Lukas Podolski has struggled to impress since joining the Nerazzurri but the World Cup winner is not bothered by criticism of Inter Milan performances
Inter Milan loan signing Lukas Podolski says he needs to live with criticism after being named the second-worst Serie A capture of January.Podolski, 29, has yet to a goal for the Inter Milan and has struggled for form since arriving until the end of the season from Arsenal.
The Germany international's recent performances, which included a corner that did not make it into Fiorentina's box on Sunday, have led to him finishing as runner-up behind AC Milan's Alessio Cerci for Gazzetta Dello Sport's worst January signing award.
However, Podolski told Sport1: "You need to swallow [criticism] in professional football. There is always another direction, meaning a positive one.
"I don't care for media or people being critical of me. I know that this is part of the business. It's important to know what you have to be better. The folks always want to see you hit rock bottom."
Podolski once again cited the first half of the current season as a reason for his current form, having spent most of his time on the bench under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal following his return from the World Cup with Germany.
"I did not have any rhythm. And I had a good start here," Podolski, who made a promising Inter debut against Juventus, said. "But what is missing is that one goal. You can't just hit the switch. I want to score in every game, play well and set up goals."
The former Bayern Munich player has also come under pressure from Inter coach Roberto Mancini as well as the media, with the Italian having urged him to do more following his substitution in the 1-0 loss at home to Fiorentina.
